Suite of 3
15" x 11" (Each Print)
This suite of monotypes takes inspiration from x-ray photography. In it, paper planes in different stages of being folded are impressed onto sheets of Rives BFK, leaving behind a grainy silhouette.
I do not remember much of my childhood, but memories of time spent making paper planes with my father and friends are some of my most vivid recollections.
For me, this suite deploys the symbol of the paper plane as a visual metonym for childhood, and seeks to examine the feeling of nostalgia for childhood through the lens of medical imagery.
